Everyone wants to wear luxury watches, but not many know much about them. For most people, luxury watches start from Rolex and end at Rolex. No doubt, it is a great brand with the largest market share, but there are also many other brands. In fact, those brands outshine Rolex in many ways. And some of you might be surprised to know, Rolex is not even in the list of top three most expensive luxury watch brands. Here I have shared some of the best luxury watch brands alternative to Rolex.

Richard Mille

Richard Mille was just founded in 2001, but today it is one of the most expensive watch brands. Just like Rolex and every other big watch company, it is based in Switzerland. Its founders Richard Mille and Dominique Guenat both worked as watchmakers for decades before they decided to start their luxury watch brand. Their experience enabled them to build the finest watches you will ever see, and it didn’t take them long to be recognized by the market.

Hublot

Hublot watch

Not much older than Richard Mille with almost the same story, Hublot is one of the leading luxury watch brands. Its founder Carlo Crocco left Binda Group in 1980, known for making Breil watches, to use his creative ideas in his own watchmaking company. He was the first person to use natural rubber strap in watches that took three years of research. Hublot became a big success due to its unique art of fusion in watches you won’t find elsewhere. It couldn’t sell a single watch on its first day of the debut but made $2m in the first year.

Patek Philippe

Founded in 1839, Patek Philippe is also a Swiss luxury watch brand that generates over one billion of annual revenue. It is also one of the oldest watch manufacturers. Patek Philippe holds the record of selling the most expensive wristwatch for 31.19 million. It created one of the most complicated mechanical watches and seven of the top ten most expensive watches.

Vacheron Constantin

Again Swiss luxury watch and clock manufacturer, founded in 1775, Vacheron Constantin is even older than Patek Philippe. The age itself is more than enough to get the attention of anyone who loves luxury items. It became a subsidiary of Richmont Group in 1996 that only took this brand to new heights. With 57 horological, one of its watches currently holds the title of the most complicated mechanical pocket watch ever created. Many of its watches are also found in the list of top most expensive watches ever sold at auction.

Audemars Piguet

Founded in 1875, Audemars Piguet created the first minute-repeating movement for wristwatches. It is also known for creating thinnest watches in the world. Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet, two founders of this luxury watch brand, were childhood friend and master watchmakers who formed this extremely successful partnership in a Swiss village and never looked back.
