Then women are induced or given a cesarean in order to “free up beds” faster. Moms and newborns are separated after birth, and babies are not given the close skin-to-skin contact they need to survive and thrive. Women are also being discouraged from breastfeeding. We are prepared to respond to these new health issues as they arise and will be at the forefront of improving the quality of care that pregnant women receive during this difficult time.
