If you’re looking for an easy way to glam up your eyes without clumping on layers upon layers of mascara, consider a pair of false lashes.
Rendering itself as a lash staple, House of Lashes recently partnered with Sephora to release HOL x Sephora, a spring collection featuring three limited-edition styles: Amethyst, Rose Quartz, and Aquamarine.
As a regular lash wearer, I was especially excited to try the crystal-inspired collection designed to suit every eye shape. All three styles make your natural lashes appear longer and fuller and can easily transition into a more glamorous look.
The collection is handcrafted, composed of premium 100% synthetic, multi-dimensional fibers made with a thin flexible band. The lashes are all lightweight and soft to the touch, making them comfortable for everyday use.
Of the three sets, Amethyst is my favorite, offering the most flattering look for my almond-shaped eyes.
Amethyst – a multidimensional prism lash that flatters any eye shape.
Amethyst – an airy lash that gives a fun, flirty look that’s not overly dramatic and fit my eye perfectly. The style adds glamour and soulfulness to the eyes. They’re also a great transition eyelash for day to night transformations. I would definitely recommend this lash for everyday use since they gave my lashes a lot of length, but not so much that I can’t still wear my glasses.
Rose Quartz – attain a subtle glamour look with minimal effort.
Rose Quartz – offers subtle glamour with medium density layers. This style gives length and volume that fits the eye just right. Its full volume opened up my eye and gave them a more defined look. Its subtle glamour complements a light smudge of eyeliner or a bare-faced makeup look.
Aquamarine – Enhances your natural beauty while adding a pinch of drama.
Aquamarine – this triple-layered lash offers a full density, dimensional volume look with a pinch of drama. Its design places all the attention to the eyes and enhances their natural beauty. These made my eyes pop instantly while also blending in perfectly with my natural lashes. They can be worn either subtle or more dramatic, such as with a smoky eye.
Not only does the collection complement the eyes, but it also flatters various makeup looks and face shapes.
Best of all, these lashes can be re-worn up to 15 times or more, depending on how you clean them. As a veteran lash wearer, I’ve found removing the old glue with a tweezer and then cleaning the lash with a cotton swab dabbed in eye makeup remover works best. While you can use any lash glue on the falsies, I like to pair my lashes with a dark-tone lash glue, such as DARK Lash Adhesive by House of Lashes.
Known for its long-lasting hold, the formula includes an applicator brush for easy application that allows you to put as little or as much glue as you’d like. I strongly suggest waiting about 30 seconds to a minute for the glue to dry (should feel tacky, not wet) and stick onto the lash line.
The glue is also free of formaldehyde, parabens, and latex making it safe to use for those with sensitive eyes (like me!).
Overall, the collection gives outstanding quality without an expensive price tag (available at Sephora for $15 each). The perk about falsies too is that they give your lashes a break from some of the ingredients in mascara that can weaken your lashes.
