JOEY Restaurants continues to bring its renowned dining and hospitality to new neighborhoods and hubs – notably, to the Bloc in downtown Los Angeles. Opening July 31, 2019, JOEY Restaurants has added an 8,870-square-foot eatery, complete with a street-level patio, to this open-air urban hotspot.

This marks the 27th restaurant overall for the Canadian firm and the second JOEY Restaurant outlet in Los Angeles, which is the perfect home for JOEY’s signature globally inspired dishes.

Long a staple in Canada, JOEY Restaurants now delivers an elevated yet comfortable dining environment to thriving downtown Los Angeles. A team of visionary chefs has created a masterful menu of inventive cosmopolitan dishes drawing from the latest international food trends, while also incorporating the best ingredients from local farmers markets.

Inside the restaurant, more than 300 guests can enjoy a highly aesthetic restaurant design and world-class hospitality, along with a delicious menu that draws on influences from every corner of the globe.

In between bites, you can simply relax in the lively atmosphere, especially out on the patio, where you can take in Southern California’s renowned sun and skies.

As part of The Bloc community, an open-air urban center in the heart of downtown Los Angeles filled with diverse businesses, JOEY DTLA brings to life an interactive atmosphere that everyone can enjoy.

“We’re thrilled to add JOEY DTLA to our collection of restaurants,” said Jeff Fuller, CEO of JOEY Restaurant Group. “As one of the most globally connected cities in the world, Los Angeles is the ideal place to expand.”

Chris Mills, Executive Chef of JOEY Restaurants, has gathered an award-winning culinary team to bring first-rate cuisine to the DTLA location, and they are working alongside Executive Director of Culinary and Top Chef Canada winner, Matthew Stowe, to create one-of-a-kind meals for guests.

“We’re excited to cater to Los Angeles’ cosmopolitan palette. JOEY DTLA will naturally become a hub for a global tribe of patrons who are keen to experience a variety of dishes from all corners of the world,” says Matthew, “while at the same time utilizing ingredients from the local farmer’s markets.”

Masterfully constructed sushi cones and inspired salads are only two examples of JOEY DTLA menu items you can expect. Guests can also enjoy several menu items that are exclusive to JOEY DTLA, including the Korean Fried Cauliflower Bowl, Lobster Grilled Cheese, Steak & Lobster Ravioli, and the Mezcal Drink.

JOEY DTLA takes advantage of California’s abundance to offer regional exclusive dishes such as the Korean Fried Cauliflower, Sake Glazed Chilean Seabass, and the 20 oz. Bone-In Ribeye.

For JOEY DTLA, the Olson Kundig design firm draws on contemporary details and Southern California’s eccentric spirit to construct a cutting-edge environment that’s both inviting and dramatic. With the year-round patio, JOEY DTLA offers both indoor and outdoor options.

Inside, the showcase kitchen is on view for guests to behold, and the main lounge area includes retractable TVs and an impressive stone bartop. Wine drinkers will appreciate the custom wine wall in the lounge, as well. JOEY DTLA also honors the neighborhood’s history and legacy with a commissioned art piece by local artist, America Martin.
