An LA’s The Place Top Pick for Best Comfort Food in 2013
Where can you go in LA to find comfort foods that really come alive for foodies and college students alike? Chef Daniel Shemtob, Co-Founder and Visionary behind The Lime Truck, can feed you a delicious answer or two.
After winning Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race, Shemtob opened the first TLT Food restaurant in the heart of Westwood late last year.
Named one of Zagat’s 30 under 30, Chef Shemtob is riding a wave of success as he opens his second brick and mortar eatery in downtown LA, also called TLT Food.
Besides its late-night hours, fans of TLT Food love the Comfort-Food-Gone-Cali-fusion flavors. From the Blue Crab Grilled Cheese to the already legendary (some say addictive) Carnitas Fries, which are piled high with carnitas, cheese, guac, and chipotle-honey cabbage, it’s easy to see why the Westwood restaurant calls out to UCLA students, local residents and the hungry business people along the Wilshire corridor.
TLT uses fresh, high quality ingredients which you taste in every bite of their succulent Short Rib Quesadillas. Patrons are drawn to The Lime Truck’s electric wild lime walls, but they keep coming back for the bright, warm service and mouth-watering variety of tacos, like pulled pork, seared ahi, sweet & spicy steak and potato to name a few.
Patrons of the Downtown location will love the same delicious prices and the fab outdoor eating area. They will lift their glasses of wine, beer or limeade and say Cheers to a wonderful place that has rolled up and is here to stay.
