She also has the Miss Christy Dancing Video DVD series which inspired her successful The Art of Dance studio in Los Angeles, where Christy coaches her students on nutrition, self-esteem and killer dance moves.

The Art of Dance

The Art of Dance studio, with over 400 students enrolled weekly, has become a cornerstone of Christy’s Los Angeles neighborhood by making dance a lifestyle not just simply a workout. Like the LA Lakers, Christy Curtis-Buss is taking dancing to the next level in performance and success.

Dance to the Top

Christy grew up dancing in her mother’s St. Louis dance studio and performed throughout the Midwest and on children’s T.V shows. She got into the dance instructor world early as Christy taught her first dance class at 10 years old.

A victory at the “All American Girl Pageants” brought her to Los Angeles at nineteen years-old to pursue her opportunities as a dancer. With her extensive background in dance and fantastic physique developed through her own regimen soon led her to becoming a beloved low-impact dance aerobics and certified personal trainer. She went on to coin the term “Cardio Choreography” and traveled around the country teaching her dance-workout theories and routines.

Christy Curtis-Buss Knows Dance

Christy is trained in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, gymnastics, Ballroom-waltz, Mambo, Salsa, Disco, Bolero, Russian Dance, Swing and ice skating. With a resume that is long as she is tall, all her training has paid off. Christy’s illustrious credits include international commercial choreography and dancing for 8 USO Tours with Bob Hope, choreography and nutritionist expertise for Lee Ann Rimes concert tours, choreography and dance for both the Los Angeles Rams Cheerleaders and the Los Angeles Clippers Spirit Squad. When Johnny Buss acquired the Sparks, Christy was the director and choreographer of the Los Angeles Sparks Kids. Most recently, Christy was the choreographer of The Bank Nightclub in Las Vegas.

Did you know a soap opera is choreographed? Christy is here to say it is as “Days of Our Lives” choreographer for over 19 years. With her little spare time, she finds way to give back teaching dance classes in her studio to under-privileged inner city youth.
