Elisabetta Canalis: I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur
Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills. That is where you’d imagine the fur trade makes it’s biggest splash, and PETA has made a great strategic move, teaming up with beautiful Italin siren Elisabetta Canalis, to protest purchasing and wearing animal fur, in light of the fact that these animals are being treated in the most inhumane of ways.Shoppers and tourists alike on Rodeo Drive this week got an eyeful as top Italian TV host and actor Elisabetta Canalis previewed her “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” fall campaign for PETA. Canalis—the first Italian to pose in the iconic campaign—has teamed with PETA to make a splash with ads and billboards this winter in the fashion capital of Milan, where many designers continue to use real fur.
“Don’t buy fur,” says Canalis, who will be seen this fall on TV’s Dancing With the Stars. “Even a little trim—your gloves or your bag or your jackets …. You must remember that animals don’t have a voice; you must be their voice. Never be afraid to speak up.”
Canalis joins a growing list of celebrities—including Charlize Theron, Pamela Anderson, Khloe Kardashian, Taraji P. Henson, Bethenny Frankel, Eva Mendes, and Lea Michele—who have starred in PETA’s anti-fur ad campaigns.

There are beautiful options these days, to be able to wear faux fur, and not have it come from animals that have been tortured and maimed. It’s actually quite vogue to wear Faux Fur and vegan leather and many designers are creating amazingly authentic pieces. Do your part! Don’t support the inhumane treatment of gentle animals by buying and wearing fur.
