Southern California foodies unite, 4 days, 3 locations, 9 events of unlimited food, wine and spirits! Los Angeles Times and Food & Wine’s THE TASTE debuts to top last year’s Los Angeles food festivals with chef celebrities galore, nine events across Los Angeles, cooking/cocktail demos, restaurant samplings, film screenings and DJs. Throughout Labor Day weekend, September 2-5, 2011, THE TASTE will feature celebrity gourmands such as Ludo Lefebvre, Michael Voltaggio, Roy Choi, Giada De Laurentiis, Scott Conant and Gabrielle Corcos.

“L.A. is primed for a food and wine event of this caliber–one that highlights the breadth of experiences available here, and rivals those in New York, South Beach, and Aspen,” said Anna Magzanyan, The Times’ VP Advertiser Marketing and Events.

With the success of last year’s Food & Wine “Taste of Beverly Hills” and LA Times’ “Celebrations of Food & Wine”, no doubt the Los Angeles Times and Food & Wine THE TASTE is a must-attend foodie event. This year, they have combined gastronomic forces in conjunction with Best Events to present THE TASTE, an incredible four-day epicurean celebration.

Magzanyan concurs with LATP’s thoughts on this event, “Combining The Times unmatched ability to bring all corners of Southern California together with this town’s passion for flavorful discovery is going to make THE TASTE an annual, must-not-miss.”

And no food event is complete without wine and spirits.  Southern Wine & Spirits of California will be the exclusive provider of THE TASTE’s wine and spirit tastings.

“Burgers & Beer” by Peroni and Eater LA and “Secrets from the Kitchen & Cellar” by Infiniti will kick-off THE TASTE’s events in Beverly Hills. The festivities continue in legendary Hollywood with “The Art of Mixing” and “Taco Tequila Tryst” featuring Roy Choi and sponsored by Hornitos, GMC and Buick.

Cocktail events are outfitted with the finest master mixologists, winemakers, sommeliers and distillers, paired with show-stopping cocktail performances and top DJs. On Sunday night in Downtown LA, historic Broadway will be transformed for an unforgettable evening of food and film with “Food Noir.”

And commencing on Labor Day, Giada De Laurentiis, will host “Picnic in the Hills” – surely to go down in this year’s history as the best picnic and BBQ in Beverly Hills.
