Los Angeles Celebration, in honor of the U.S and Australia, brought together the best in sports, music and film from both countries for the 8th Annual G’DAY USA Gala held on January 22, 2011. Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi were there as well as Olivia Newton-John and so many others celebrities.

G’DAY USA Awards

This year, awards were given to tennis great Rod Laver in the sports category, ‘Bright Star’ actress Abbie Cornish for film and former BeeGee Barry Gibb for the music category.  The gala event was held at the Palladium in Hollywood.

About G’DAY USA Australia Week 2011

G’DAY USA Australia Week 2011 is a joint initiative between the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Tourism Australia, Austrade, and Qantas Airways. In 2011, the 14-day program will touch down in 11 cities with more than 40 events across the U.S. designed to deliver an exciting and increasingly diverse showcase of Australian capabilities and achievement including new comprehensive programs in Boston and Houston.
