This fall, Ole Henriksen’s Los Angeles spa is expanding to include a brand new nail salon and introducing Advanced Hydra-Dermabrasion Treatment to the spa’s menu. As the first spa on the West Coast to offer microdermabrasion, Ole Henriksen continues to innovate the face and body spa arena and is now venturing into nails.

Ole Henriksen’s LA-based spa opened in 1975, two years after Ole himself graduated from Christine Shaw College of Beauty in London. One year after the debut, the LA Times profiled Ole and his knowledge of skin and beauty, and in 1981, the spa moved to its current space on Sunset Boulevard, which just expanded to include the nail salon for manicures and pedicures.

The nail portion of the spa is designed specially to juxtapose a natural and classic approach of relaxation and pampering with the modern demand of the working professional. The seated area is wooden, and the pedicure basins composed of stainless steel. Both sections are also complete with an iPad station for added enjoyment.

For the manicures and pedicures, color selections are offered from SpaRitual Vegan Nail Polish, and the spa also gives the opportunity to use Axxium OPI soak off gels and Minx Nail Designs for that extra spark.

“I am thrilled to offer a full-service nail care experience for the first time, and the Advanced Hydra-Dermabrasion Treatment is quickly becoming one of our most popular services at the spa,” Ole said. “Clients leave rejuvenated and with their skin radiating from within.”

The new Treatment features the HydraFacial System, which exfoliates and works on glamorous pore refinement and works to cleanse, hydrate and create anti-aging benefits. This System was developed to be used alongside any of the spa’s other signature facials.

Alongside the spa’s additions, Ole Henriksen is launching a new line of skincare products, all with the word “truth” in the name. On spotlight is the “treatment” piece called “truth serum collagen booster.” The vitamin C-filled anti-aging product is the winner of Natural Heath Magazine’s Beauty Awards 2010 in the “Miracle Worker” category. Composed of green tea extract, sodium hyaluronate, licorice extract and grapefruit and orange extracts, the collagen booster hydrates and nourishes the skin.

The “facial moisturizer,” is aptly called “truth revealed super crème SPF 15” and is built to improve the texture and firmness of skin, as well as reducing uneven pigmentation. The “truth to go wipes” serve as the line’s “facial cleanser,” and embody a fresh and delicate scent to accompany the cleanliness felt after use.

One of the most important aspects of ones face is the eyes, and Ole Henriksen’s latest line does not leave these pieces out. His “truth is in the eyes” piece contains vitamin C and pentavitin, among other materials, to exfoliate around the eye area in a soothing way.
