In December, Oprah celebrates her last show by going down with a flare, only in the style Oprah can do. Going down under literally as she revealed on her show today she is flying 300 audience members to Australia for the taping of the show. As her first and only time to broadcast outside the U.S., Oprah once again is giving back to the fans who have given her such a long broadcasting career.

“This is really my last chance to do something really big,” Oprah said today to viewers. “And if you want to do something big, you would want to take along your ultimate viewers.”

According to MSNBC, producers carefully selected the lucky ticket holders to Oprah’s final show. Those selected for the all-expenses paid, 8-day and 7-night trip to Australia are some of Oprah’s most loyal and dedicated viewers. John Travolta, appropriately dressed in a pilot’s uniform, was by her side when she made the big announcement.

This act will only cement Oprah’s legacy as one of the most generous celebrities of all time. Over the years, she has given cars, money for homes and lots of other fun things to her audiences. Her “O” magazine staff has received bonuses of $10,000 and Apple ipads. She also has a girls’ school in South Africa, financed solely by her.

As the Oprah show ends in December, she begins her own network: OWN.  A joint venture between Discovery Channel and Harpo Incorporated, Oprah Winfrey Network is predicted to be a success much like her long lasting talk show.
