A Green, Educational, and Momentous Affair at the 2010 Go Green Expo

“Go Green Expo: Buy Green, Go Green, Live Green.”

The Go Green Expo held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Jan. 22-24, 2010 showcased some very resourceful Go Green products appealing to over 10,000 expecting green enthusiasts and jolting those just curious. The smiles and nods of visitor’s heads at the conglomeration of businesses jumping on the green path seemed to have been influenced by a universal realization that, “Green can be done, and is.”

Over 200 Go Green booths and exhibits seemed to join hands and stand tall in camaraderie. The forward-thinking companies conjointly buzzed with an energy of a tangible success, or, their recognition of their perfectly-timed, actualized, innovative response to a demanding, green-conscious public. In one corner of the convention there were seminars and speeches from the holistic author Mariel Hemingway, actor and director Ed Begley Jr., eco-futurist John Picard, son of Nancy Pelosi, Paul Pelosi, Jr., an eco-mother of “Blossom” Mayim Bialik, and Sarah Blackhouse, the hostess of the segment The Planet 100 on Discovery’s Planet Green show. Also, in other corners, there were educational film presentations, and across the way, a green marketplace bustling with active consumers. There were also many demonstrations with dozens of hands on activities.

Also, not only was the exposition meant as an introduction to the many inventive Go Green products; but it also teemed with the intention of educating the general public on the benefits and uses of Go Green products and businesses. It should not be forgotten that the Go Green Expo was put on in the first place for teaching people “how green alternatives can positively change the way you impact the environment.”

The design of the exposition as focused on education and awareness reveals that green businesses recognize that in order for there to be a demand for green products their has to be not only an understanding of it, but a desire and compassion for it.

Green Products

Eco-Panda

(Nylon Fishnets+ Creroa Chlorine Spandex)(Technology) =  Eco-Panda’s Fabulous, Mint Bathing Suits (or, some advanced weaponry).

Now, multiply the outcome by 2 and that is how much stronger and resistant Eco-Panda’s exotic swimwear is compared to other bathing suits that utilize only chlorine resistant spandex. Multiply by 10 to get how much stronger Eco-Panda is than industry standard suits. The secret, you may wonder, and I, in response, will gingerly whisper in your ear: “It’s in the fishnets, baby,” conjoined with the, not so semantically enticing, Creora Chlorine spandex.

The Eco-Panda swimwear is environmentally conscious because it uses recycled nylon and other materials in the production process.  Recycling nylon decreases our greenhouse gas emissions, shrinks our landfills, and minimizes the depletion of our natural petroleum resources. In turn, it blesses our children and makes for a better, more habitable planet.

I could not pass up the fact that Eco-Panda has the coolest, most enticing prints of fabric. The fabric is both exotic and subtle, making for some very alluring and aesthetically pleasing pieces. Also, Eco-Panda offers a large number of appealing designs. From the typical bikini sets to monokinis with bandeau tops and halter tops to tankinis to wide band halter bras and wide side tie bottoms. There are hundreds of choices, but in our day and age, there is also another dimension of choice: is it environmentally friendly or not? And, thanks to Eco-Panda we can now weigh that very question.Eco-Panda.com

Skoy Cloth

Skoj (prenounced skoy) is a 100% biodegradable, absorbent, reusable multi-use cloth. The Skoy, absorbing 15x its own weight, is meant to replace the paper towel. The efficiency and durability it provides causes Americans to reevaluate their consumption of paper towels as wasteful and now, unnecessary. The Skoy cloth’s lifetime is equivalent to an average household’s use of 15 rolls of paper towels and. Moreover, with paper towels costing about $2 per roll, the Skoy is as efficient for your wallet as it is for the environment. skoycloth.com

Go Green Oil Filter

Another remarkable and exceptionally valuable product at the convention was the Go Green Oil Filter. The Green Oil Filter is an alternative to unrecyclable oil filters that now contaminate landfills. The manufacturers of the Green Oil Filter   pride themselves on the maxim, “Inspect, Clean, Reuse.” What makes the filter reusable is a savvy twist lock design that allows for the filter to be removed, cleansed, and reset. The oil filter is solid evidence that green businesses are producing practical and environmentally beneficial products – or, just what we are looking for. It could very well be the last filter one would ever buy! GoGreenOilFilter.com

EZ WYP

Among the original products showcased were EZ WYP an all natural, biodegradable wet toilette that is compacted to resemble an alka seltzer tablet, well, that is before a tablespoon of water enlarges it. The quarter size toilette is perfect for traveling; and whenever one’s in need of a minor touch up or a quick and easy solution to a small spill.

Anything Olives

Anything Olives is a company that produces olives and creates the finest products from the fruit and its leaves. Olive leaf extract is one of their specialties and the benefits of the leaf are numerous. As a folk remedy, olive leaves have been brewed throughout the ages to treat fevers.
