Dr. Helen and  Dr. Edgar Fincher of Fincher Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery, cosmetic dermatologists in Beverly Hills, are offering the Pellevé Wrinkle Reduction System, the latest in non-invasive wrinkle reduction and skin tightening technology that is both painless and extremely effective in producing lasting results. Utilized in Europe since 2005, Pellevé of Ellman International, has been recently approved by the FDA as a safe and effective means to treat mild to moderate facial wrinkles without surgery and with no recovery time.

Pellevé uses the advanced radiowave technology of the Ellman International Surgitron® Dual RF™ S5 and a proprietary Pellevé handpiece to precisely deliver energy through the skin to the dermal tissue beneath without damaging the epidermis. The heat causes the collagen in the skin to contract and tighten. After the treatment,  skin starts to produce new collagen, reducing wrinkles and tightening saggy skin. Ellman International’s CEO  Rick Epstein says of their newest breakthrough in beauty technology, “Pellevé offers safe, non-invasive facial rejuvenation with no need for a local anesthetic and minimal discomfort—a significant evolution from previous-generation technologies in this class.”

Clinical Trial Studies

With so many products and treatments making the claim to reduce wrinkles, how can one be sure Pellevé works? In a clinical trial conducted to determine the effectiveness of the Pellevé system, 83 women and 10 men were given a single treatment with the Pellevé handpiece. The procedure was performed in an ambulatory (outpatient) setting with no need for skin cooling products or anesthesia and took an average of 15 to 20 minutes, depending on the size of the area. More than 87% of patients showed measurable and immediate positive results in a blinded assessment of skin laxity and wrinkle improvement with continued response at six months after treatment.

European dermatologists have been using it for four years with great success as Dr. Antonio Rusciani Division of Dermatology, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Rome, Italy can attest. He says, confirming the study with his own findings that, “With a single Pellevé treatment, over 87% of our patients experienced an improvement in skin laxity and fewer overall facial wrinkles at six months. The Pellevé Skin Tightening System is an effective, non-invasive, economical and safe tool.”

Fast Facts About Pellevé™

  • How does Pellevé work?
  • Pellevé precisely heats the deep layers of your skin using advanced radiowave technology without damaging the epidermis, or top layer. The heat causes the collagen in your skin to contract and tighten. After the treatment, your skin will start to produce new collagen. The result is an improvement in skin quality, firmness and tightness you can see and feel.
  • What parts of my body can be treated with Pellevé?
  • Pellevé can be used to treat the skin on the face, including the eye area.

  • Possible side effects of Pellevé include mild discomfort during the procedure within the area that was treated. Mild swelling and redness may occur which typically go away within 2 to 24 hours.
  • How long does a Pellevé procedure take?
  • Your Pellevé procedure will typically take about 45 to 60 minutes for a full facial treatment. Because Pellevé doesn’t require anesthesia or downtime, it fits easily into your busy schedule.
  • When will I see results, and how often is treatment recommended?
  • Many people start to see results immediately after just one treatment, with lasting improvement for up to 6 months as your skin produces new collagen. Your doctor will recommend the number of treatments that would be most beneficial for you.
  • How is Pellevé different from other skin tightening treatments?
  • Pellevé has been proven to provide safe and effective skin tightening in medical studies. Because Pellevé is a non-invasive procedure, meaning no surgery is required, there are minimal side effects and discomfort.
