Satisfy Your Appetite at the L.A. BBQ Festival

The Santa Monica Beach will be the setting for the L.A. BBQ Festival on September 13th and 14th, as top pitmasters from around the country will showcase the best BBQ.

20,000 BBQ lovers from San Diego to Santa Barbara are expected for this one-of-a-kind BBQ extravaganza featuring the country’s top pit masters from Texas, Missouri, North Caroline and Mississippi showcase ribs, pork, briskets and more. Among those that will prepare authentic Kansas City ribs, Carolina pulled pork, Memphis baby back ribs, and Texas brisket will be Southside Market from Elgin, TX, Salt Lick BBQ from Driftwood, Texas, Ubon’s Championship BBQ from Yazoo, Mississippi, and LC BBQ from Kansas City, Missouri.  The event is hoping to attract one more pitmaster from Memphis to complete the representation from the various BBQ capitals.

Essential Chocolate Collection and Leyna’s Kitchen (winner of the “Best Cupcake” in the 2008 LA Cupcake Challenge) will provide delicious desserts to compliment the great food, while Firestone and Sierra Nevada will sponsor the beer garden to help wash it all down.

A Johnny Cash cover band and a Beatles cover band (Ticket to Ride) will provide entertainment on Friday. Saturday’s musical entertainment will include Country Gone Awry and Metal shop, which is a tribute band who covers Poison, Guns N’ Roses, and Bon Jovi.

The two-day Los Angeles BBQ Festival will take place on the Santa Monica Beach North Parking Lot, adjacent to the Santa Monica Pier, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will feature a beer garden and live music.General admission is $10, and each pit master will sell their ‘Que for $10 as well. “Fast Pass” admission is available for $50, and will include admission for both days, shorter lines, a VIP gift bag and a shirt from the Festival.
