Aaron Baker on Bike Getting ready For Trans America Trail Ride In 1999 renowned professional biker, Aaron Baker, suffered a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed. Today, however, the 29-year-old former motocross athlete and recovering quadriplegic is proving he can rise above the odds and help others at the same time.

Baker founded C.O.R.E. Inc. (Center of Rehabilitative Exercise) which helps people with disabilities by exercise therapy, extended care, as well as staying committed to changing perceptions regarding treatment of catastrophic injuries.  C.O.R.E. and Baker are at the forefront of a movement that will bring assistance, hope, and caring through the Rise Above Tour to those that need therapeutic rehabilitation.

Baker proudly states that, “C.O.R.E. is dedicated to each client using a scientific approach towards the development of personalized goals.” With that in mind C.O.R.E. and the Rise Above Tour ’08 are hoping to reach its goal of $1,000,000 benefiting the construction and maintenance of the C.O.R.E. facilities by biking across America.

The CORE teamThe 4,200 mile bike trek departs from Los Angles on June 8, 2008, with Baker in the lead, and will last for about 4 months making final tracks in Washington D.C. Pedaling his way across America is a great feat for Baker considering it was only 8 years ago he was told he had a “1 in a million chance of ever feeding himself again, let alone walk.”

“I envision an abundance of opportunities for my fellow friends who suffer. C.O.R.E. is a common place where he/she can improve the quality of their life through exercise and inspiration. Our goal is to provide this opportunity,” said Baker about his vision for C.O.R.E., which he hopes will expand nationwide.

Baker and C.O.R.E. are inspirations to all with their work and this upcoming “Trans America Trail Ride.” Click here for additional information on The Rise Above Tour ’08 or here for more on Aaron Baker and his amazing journey.
