James vocal prowess is along the lines of Sheryl Crow, Stevie Nicks meets the power house vocals of Ann Wilson of Heart. Her music is saucy, sensual, and seductive. Her songs deal delicately with faltering relationships, break-ups, self-assuredness and somebody done somebody wrong songs.

The title track, “Desert Rose,” is where she shares the longing for a love lost but never forgotten. The album is a kaleidoscope with a track for every emotion in the spirit of legendary songwriter Emmylou Harris.
With the desert winds at her back, Ruby James is already gearing up for numerous 2008 tour dates, which will take her from Nashville to Los Angeles and back to wherever a nomad can call home.
