Jerry Yang Teams up with Feed The Children to Feed 4000 Families in Southern California

One of the most inspiring things to watch in this town are celebs who graciously make an effort to reach out to those in need. On March 29th, 2007 World Series of Poker champion, Jerry Yang, is indeed sharing the wealth as he will teamed up with Feed The Children to deliver ten semi tractor-trailers full of food to The Foodbank of Southern California in Long Beach. Washington Redskins Safety, Omar Stoutmire, was also at the Foodbank Saturday morning to support the food distribution to over 4,000 families.

2007 World Series of Poker Champion Jerry Yang Thanks to Yang and Feed The Children, each family will receive a box of personal care items and a 25 pound box of food. And every child needs something to play with! Therefore 1,200 JAKKS Packfic Fly Wheels XPV remote control vehicles, with batteries, will also be distributed to children who attend on Saturday.

But the giving doesn’t stop there. After the ten tractor-trailers deliver necessities to the Food Bank of Southern California, the following Feed The Children partner agencies will receive aid as well. Two trucks will be delivered to Lotshaw Helping Hands Ministry in Riverside as well Omar Stoutmireas two trucks going to Fred Jordan Missions in Los Angeles.  Additionally trucks will be delivering food and personal care packages to the St. John Vianney Food Pantry in Los Angeles, Cory’s Kitchen in Los Angeles and Charity for Humanity in Monterey Park.

Larry Jones, founder and president of Feed The Children is very excited to work with a celebrity as generous as Jerry Yang. Jones remarks that he finds it “wonderful that Jerry is sharing some of his winnings from the World Series of Poker to make a positive impact in the lives of thousands of people.
