About
The Miracle Project (LA), a program of Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services, is a transformative and ground-breaking charity that annually produces an original musical inspired and performed by children with autism. The disease continues to make headlines with its rapidly rising statistics. Today, 1 in 150 children are diagnosed with autism or related disorders. The Miracle Project believes everyone should have the opportunity to express, create and thrive, and because there is not yet a cure for this devastating illness, it is their endeavor to create a place where these children, too, can fly.
Location
Hosting the event for this unique charity is fittingly one of LA’s most distinctive locations. HD Buttercup is located in the Historic Helms Bakery Building in central Culver City, and has been an epicenter of home furnishings, life-style design and community activity for years. This solar powered, former bread bakery still bears the original, external Helms Bakery décor and within emits an open yet intimate Hollywood elegance. Throughout the event on the third, HD Buttercup will also house a silent auction featuring items donated by its chic retail vendors.
Entertainment
“All Girls. All Zeppelin.”
Additionally, “Lez Zeppelin”, the all women, Led Zeppelin cover band, (“All Girls. All Zeppelin”) promises to deliver the musical performance of the year. You can see from their website that these girls are spirited, high energy, and judging from their enormous, enthusiastic fan base, probably put on a great show. Scheduled to play at Bonaroo later this year, they are proud to make their West Coast debut at FLY and believe in celebrating the Miracle Project’s mission of promoting diversity and artistry.
Goals for the Future
The celebration of hope is always a transformational experience, and what better place to get started than one of LA’s most historic locations in central Culver City. The Miracle Project wants to share with you good music, good company, and an inspiring world where creativity and expression is a priority. By attending you will contribute to funding the Miracle Project’s annual production for another year and beyond. Furthermore, as the HBO airing reaches its 30 million subscribers, the Miracle Project will be called upon by communities everywhere for training curriculums. Your support will enable them to bring light and life to the lives of kids, their families and communities around the country.
