Christopher DeBlasioGorgeous men in Hollywood are a dime a dozen. However, Christopher DeBlasio, is not just another pretty face in a sea of celebrities. He has already established himself as a soap opera heartthrob, but now he is currently one of the hottest (no pun intended) up and coming producers in the entertainment industry.

Christopher was destined for success. As a child in Bloomfield New Jersey, Christopher’s prized possession was a Fisher Price camera that was given to him by his mother. While other students were playing in sandboxed and covered in play dough, he was impersonating his teachers, and falling in love with stories and film.

Christopher got his big break in the summer of 2006 – and it was at random.  He caught the eye of a casting director from ABC, and he quickly began working on several soap operas that were filmed in the New York area.  While living in New York, he maintained a busy schedule with a recurring role on ABC’s "One Life to Live" while continuing to train with top acting coaches.  As a smoking hot guy on national TV, this role opened many doors for Christopher’s career.

In 2007, he moved to Los Angeles, where he was quickly picked up by a Christopher DeBlasioprestigious talent agency.  Christopher’s time spent in the soap world is currently on hold, as he is focusing on the exploration of other aspects of the industry, looking for challenging roles, and focusing on producing, directing, and screenwriting.

Christopher says, "I don’t ‘try’ anything, because trying is nothing more than failing with honor.  I choose to do or not do something."  Christopher recently established a production company in Studio City.  Some of his working projects are a short film that he wrote entitled, "String Theory," and a treatment with the working title of "Tap Out" which Chris co-wrote with director Andy Taylor. He is also currently working on a script that he co-wrote and is producing entitled, "A Loss for Words."  His production company is also receiving scripts from writers in hopes of finding a gem to add to their slate.

LA’s the Place got to sit down and chat with this rising star:

LATP: What was it like being a soap actor?

Christopher DeBlasio: I had a blast, it is very fast-paced. One of the things I enjoy most is that the cast is like a close family. I miss them!

LATP: What do you value more, acting or producing and why?

CD: My first love is acting. I love the feeling I get when I’m done with a scene and knowing that it had an impact on the audience’s emotions. I enjoy producing as well though because I always had a great business sense and it allows me to control not only my workflow as an actor, but create great films that audiences will enjoy.

LATP: What’s it like being known as Hollywood’s up and coming heartthrob?

CD: A heartthrob, eh? It’s funny I never really thought of myself as that, but thank you, it’s quite flattering.

LATP: Tell us about the script(s) you’re working on.

CD: The script that is currently in pre-production is entitled "A Loss for Words." This story is an amazing physiological drama that focuses on a character we all can relate to. I am very excited about this project and I believe it will place the audience on an emotional rollercoaster and even better, towards the end of the film, they will be faced with an unexpected twist.  The other project that I am working on is entitled "String Theory." This is a project that is very emotionally charged and personally means a lot to me. "String Theory" is based on the idea that everyone and everything relates to one another.  The choices we make in our lives not only affect how our lives play out, but also the lives of others around us. This film will speak to a very large number of audiences and will keep them riveted as the stories of five characters unfold together in an interwoven plot.

LATP: What are your goals for 2008?

CD: I really feel that 2008 will be a great year. With the launch of my production company, East Coast Entertainment, and the great response we have been getting from the projects we are currently working on, I’m confident this year will be one to remember.
