The ballet takes place in the home of the Shook family, where they host a special party every holiday season for the Los Angeles Orphanage. Maria, a girl who lived at the orphanage until she was “too old,” now resides with the Shook family and works as their housekeeper. Maria’s secret is her interest in the oldest son of the family, Jim, who she is thrilled about seeing as he returns home from war just in time for the holiday party.
A beautiful story involving romance, excitement and plenty of holiday spirit, "The Nutcracker" has delighted audiences for years.
