Pristine red carpeting lined with velvet ropes paved the way to the huge glass doors of the House of Hennessy. The two story mansion tucked away in Beverly Hills stretched along L.A.’s famed Mulholland Drive was the host of the Hennessy: Flaunt Your Taste party.
The Entrance
Above the entrance, a drive-in movie affect displayed images of well dressed men and women enjoying a fine time with a fine wine to the street. The elite of Black Hollywood and invited guests stepped out of shiny European luxury cars and into the Hennessy experience for the night.
The Carpet
Once inside press and paparazzi immediately captured celebrity arrivals. Spinderella, B2K, actor Keith Robinson, Young Jeezy and Bill Maher all worked the camera. While the celebs handled this business-as-usual element, the party was in full swing just a few feet away.
The Flavor
Guests savored exquisite cocktails from the Hennessy portfolio, including the Hennessy Cinnamon (1 ½ oz Hennessy combined with 1 oz of clear apple juice, ¼ oz of caramel syrup and garnished with cinnamon sticks) and the Fly girl, a wonderful mixture of Hennessy and Champagne.
The Jams
Dj Rashida quenched musical appetites with a great blend of Hip Hop, R&B, and a little Latin flavor; and the Hennessy flowed smoothly from bar-side to fireside to poolside and back again without interruption.
Around midnight, former Boogie Down Productions DJ D-Nice turned up the heat on the turn tables and motivated the laid-back crowd to move on the dance floor. What began as an exclusive mansion party in Beverly Hills now looked and felt like an old school rent party. Gentlemen unbuttoned tailored shirts, ladies discarded expensive shoes, and the drinks flowed on to the dawn.
By 2 a.m., breakfast was surprisingly served and graciously welcomed. Mouth-watering sausage, grits, and biscuits satisfies a hungry crowd before the party came to a close.
