Actress, choreographer and producer-director Debbie Allen, decked out in a gorgeous black gown and special earrings that were given to her by Oprah Winfrey at the Legends Ball, hosted the beautiful black-tie gala.
Guests were delighted with a surprise performance by Mr. Wonder following his eloquent acceptance speech.
James Ingram provided fine musical entertainment as well, as did the dancers from the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, performing an amazing “Cancan” show.
The gala also included a live and silent auction, with all net proceeds directly benefiting further medical and scientific research through the foundation.
Started in 1985, the Alfred Mann Foundation is a non-profit medical research foundation that has spent over 20 years trying to create new medical devices and conduct medical and scientific research in hopes of improving the quality of life for millions of people suffering from debilitating conditions.
