Gregory Markel, nicknamed “The Voice” due to his impressive 4 octave range, will be showcasing his soulful talents when he performs at The Derby on September 18th.
Masterfully connecting with the audience, his live shows have been described by Music Connection magazine as “an almost spiritual level of experience.”
He found success on The BBC top 20 with a song that he wrote, “Strong as I am,” which relays a child’s message to his parents about forgiveness and reconciliation. The song, which fans across the world continue to connect with today, was chosen for the cult classic “Manhunter,” the pre-sequel to the chilling “Silence of the Lambs.”
In 1991, he also went to #1 at Rock Radio in many U.S. States, as well as Top 30 internationally, with “Ghost Beside My Bed.”
In 2006, Markel recorded music with Paul McCartney guitarist Rusty Anderson, guitarist/producer
Christian Nesmith, drummer Chip Morland and bassist Howard Ulyate.
