George SarahGeorge Sarah has made a name for himself since 1985 by successfully combining two very different generes of music; classical and electronica. A composer for the electronic age, George Sarah uses synthesizers and drum machines as his instruments, and a trio of live strings to compliment and compose each one of his original songs. These elements lend Sarah’s music a conscious, haunting quality popular among the youth oriented electronica crowd.
His popularity transcends age and genre boundries, further proven by his popularity on some of L.A.’s popular radio stations such as KCRW and KXLU in addition to being featured on KUSC’s classical station and being named ‘Catch of the Day’ by Jed the Fish on the world famous KROQ.
George Sarah released his own demo of seven songs in 2001, which quickly reached number one on KCRW’s playlist. Impressed with his work, KCRW invited Sarah to perform at their fist annual ‘Unsigned Indies’ concert held at the Getty Museum.
Following that success Sarah released his first full-length album, Opus Eleven in May 2001 to his newly developed fan base. The album was well received, earning him praise from the fickle electronic music community. It made it to the eleventh spot on the LINKS chart and the fourteenth spot on the RPM CMJ charts.
Sarah’s second full-length venture Music for Elevators was released in February of 2002, the melodic beauty of this album propelled it into Amazon’s top 50 best-sellers list for three weeks in a row, and Music for Elevators continues to be a popular item to this day.
Music from George Sarah’s albums has been featured on television shows such as; CSI, CSI NY, The Oprah Winfrey Show, History Detectives on PBS, Chris Rock’s sitcom Everybody Hates Chris, MTV’s Road Rules and Undressed, the WB’s Everwood, and even some classics like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and it’s spin off Angel.
