With a champagne toast, international superstar Bruce Willis and friend Robert Earl capped off a day of big announcements and celebrity appearances as they lit up the Las Vegas Strip and the sign atop the new Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

The evening ceremony on the resort’s pool deck was just the tip of the iceberg. Earlier in the day, a parade of stars, including Roger Clemens, Sugar Ray Leonard, Pete Sampras, and Carmen Electra, had joined the press conference revealing details about the Strip’s latest high-wattage addition. The collection of new restaurants, clubs, retail stores, and other luxury amenities housed in the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will officially be ready for business this fall, following a weekend-long party celebrating the resort’s grand opening September 28 and 29.

Millions of visitors stream into Las Vegas every year, and they know what they want from America’s premier leisure destination for grown-ups. The masterminds behind the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino are well aware of these demands, and they have these needs covered. Is it games that you’re seeking? Planet Hollywood will feature a spacious gaming area with the hottest table games, slot machines, a poker room, and a cutting-edge sports and book lounge.

Luxury is as much a part of the new Las Vegas formula as gambling, and the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino has piled on the goods here. Starting in the lobby, guests can bask in the glow cast by the floor-to-ceiling Swarovski crystal chandeliers, or they can take in a movie or broadcast event on any of the resort’s 5,000 Panasonic high-definition plasma televisions, whether in the hotel’s public areas or guest rooms.

After dark, the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino continues to cater to your whims. The Opium Group, South Beach Miami’s most celebrated club operators, are opening up three projects under Planet Hollywood’s roof: Living Room, a slinky lounge; the Prive nightclub; and a third hot spot to be named. At the other end of the spectrum, the old favorite Trader Vic’s serves up its trademark cocktails.

The Heart Bar

In addition to this impressive list of credentials, the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino brings one more element that no other presence on the Strip can imitate: an exclusive world filled with celebrity and Hollywood culture. Each room in the hotel features a movie theme, and beyond those walls, the lifestyle permeates the resort’s other fixtures as well.

Guests can choose to meet up at the Extra Lounge, exclusive Las Vegas headquarters for the popular entertainment news magazine. They can also take in The Beauty of Magic, a show starring magician Hans Klok and featuring world-class beauty and performer Carmen Electra. The creators of Stomp have also brought an original production of Stomp Out Loud to the premises.

Full house? Not quite yet. The Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino also provides acclaimed dining from the likes of the Strip House, one of New York’s smartest upscale steakhouses, as well as two of L.A. favorites: Pink’s, the famous hot dog joint; and Koi, the celebrity magnet. For retail therapy, stop by H&M, Urban Outfitters, or any of the retailers at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood for funky frocks. After a busy day or night, melt your tensions away at the Planet Hollywood Spa by Mandara, or take the biggest plunge of all at the Chapel, a romantic backdrop for your special day with your beloved.

Show biz and Las Vegas are a natural match. But now that the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino has come to town, it’s official: the two most exciting forces in entertainment have come together, and you can be a part of the action.

Currently you can see Bruce in theaters opposite Halle Berry in ‘Perfect Stranger’. This summer he reprises his role as John McClane in the 4th installment of the Die Hard series ‘Live Free or Die Hard’ opening June 27th.
