Universal Studios Holloween Horror Nights – The Director Will See You Now

Cash for your car

Horror and Hollywood go hand in hand. Ghost stories and spooky legends were among the first tales translated to film, and slasher flicks are perennial big-screen favorites. This Halloween, show biz takes this legacy to a new level when Universal Studios Hollywood introduces Halloween Horror Nights. Opening Friday the 13th and extending for six more nights this October, the “Director” will wreak revenge, unleashing an army of zombies on the legendary Universal Studios lot from which he was banned. In addition, for the first time ever, park guests will be allowed to leave the safety of the studio tram, but at their own risk. If they’re not careful, they may become the starring players in the Director’s diabolical masterpiece.

After disembarking from the tram, guests will witness the collision of fantasy and reality as they explore, then escape from original film sets for ?War of the Worlds? and ?Psycho?. Left and right, they’ll be surrounded by sorority girl massacres, chainsaw-brandishing madmen, and rotting bodies. In the Asylum, they’ll be engulfed in mayhem when the lunatics take over, while even the most jaded guests will find it hard not to look away from the gallery of human oddities in the Carnival of Carnage. In the Scare Zones, they’ll be hunted down by history’s greatest villains, such as Jack the Ripper, Mr. Hyde, the Butcher of the Black Plague, and the vengeful ghosts of the Old West

Only Universal Studios, with its hallowed history in the film industry, could bring to life Halloween Horror Nights. In addition to the new attractions created specifically to the Director’s preferences, Universal Studio’s own back catalog of memorable movies and characters will show up to scare the bejesus out of anyone who dares to cross paths with them. The House of Horrors hosts a mad mix of cinema’s most frightful creations; just don’t blame us when you find yourself face to face with Norman Bates, Michael Myers, and Hannibal Lechter.

Elsewhere, the protean WaterWorld morphs into the much more foreboding SlaughterWorld. Neither Jurassic Park-The Ride or Revenge of the Mummy-The Ride are much comfort either, as they take guests through past ferocious dinosaurs, creepy insects, and plunging depths.

Armed with jokes and zingers, ?Fear Factor Live: Dead Celebrity Edition? offers a cast of familiar faces, as well as an oasis from the evening’s gore. Guests can also shimmy away their stress and anxiety at the Mutaytor Dance Party, a multimedia extravaganza featuring tribal dancers, shooting flames, and pounding beats.

This may be the best month ever for horror fans. As if Halloween weren’t enough to keep them busy, Friday the 13th fell this month, and now Halloween Horror Nights caps off the seasonal spell. This year at Universal Studios Hollywood, your dreams can come true–especially the scary, bloody variety.
