The Jeremy McGrath Invitational will jolt southern California with a moto-extravaganza unlike any other, October 6-7 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
This two-day, Supercross-style event will pit two international superstars in rare head-to-head battle –2006 X Games 3-time superstar gold medalist Travis Pastrana, and 7-time AMA Supercross Champion Jeremy McGrath.
The most successful rider in AMA Supercross history, Jeremy McGrath holds a record 74 Supercross wins, and is considered the “Michael Jordan of the Sport” A southern California native from Encinitas, Jeremy’s career has been profiled in a top-selling autobiography. His fame has landed him cameo roles in Charlie’s Angels Full Throttle, and WB Kids Max Steel. He was also the first Supercross racer with his own toy line, and has appeared in national commercials for 1-800-Collect.
Travis Pastrana is arguably among the most talented riders the worlds of both Supercross and Freestyle motocross. Coming off an amazing 3 gold-medal performance at the 2006 X Games, TP has achieved almost every accolade in the sport ? redefining the rules along the way.
More than 20 racing legends from around the world will compete at this inagural event for $500,000 — the largest purse ever offered in the sport of Supercross racing.
In addition to Jeremy and Travis, the top riders on the Supercross circuit will be battling it out for the big bucks, including local boy Tyler Evans from Corona, California, Honda?s Kevin Windham, international superstars David Vuillemin from France and Jean Sebastian Roy from Canada, and exciting pros Michael Brown, Josh Demith, Heath Voss, Michael Byrne, Nathan Ramsey, Jason Lawrence, Nick Wey, Josh Hansen, Jason Thomas, Josh Grant, Kyle Lewis, Danny Smith, Ryan Mills, and Ryan Clark.
Crowds will thrill to Supercross-style racing with a unique format with four different types of races taking place during the event — a bracket style head-to-head 2 lap sprints, team races, barrel races, and a full feature Supercross race. All races will be staged on a never-before seen track design featuring 15-foot monster metal launch ramps, and 500 dump trucks of dirt in a course created by Jeremy McGrath and legendary track designer Randy Mennenga.
Alongside racing action, riders will soar more than 3 stories on their custom-modified motorcycles in gravity-defying Freestyle Motocross demos. FMX pros showing their stuff include: freestyle moto?s top winning medalist, Brian Deegan from Temecula, California; superstar Ronnie Renner from Long Beach, California; Jeremy Twitch Stenberg from Murietta, California; Nate Adams; and Ronnie Faisst.
This exciting event will also feature autograph sessions with top international athletes, free giveaways including a 2007 Honda CR 450 motorcycle, and pit access with special ticket packages.
