LA’s the Place fitness columnist Helen M. Ryan is a certified trainer, Spinning® instructor, author and speaker. She specializes in helping people lose weight and get back in shape, naturally and quickly. Helen’s secret weapon as a trainer is simple: She knows what it feels like to be overweight, out of shape, and unable to bend over to tie her shoes. Just five years ago Helen was heavy – so heavy that she could not fit into a ride at an amusement park.
Today, after an 80 pound weight loss, Helen shares her knowledge and experience with others, leading them on a path to weight loss success, without starvation or insane amounts of exercise. “The key to losing weight,” says Helen, “is to make exercise and eating well a regular part of your life, be consistent and, above all, not wait for tomorrow.”
