25 Years of Rock ‘n Roll

The Eco Emmys  not only gave generously to the celebrities in the form of spa treatments and swag but donations at door were collected for these upstanding non-profit charities: Susan Komen for the Cure, spcaLA, GreenWish.org, I Am that Girl, and Free the Slaves.

GreenWish.org, a grassroots non-profit charitable organization is focused on helping local green organizations from projects for their communities through “pay what you can” donations at local retailers and online. Ed Begley Jr. and wife Rachelle are on the board.

The two day party was filled with informal fashion shows from EcoCouture Gowns and Designer Daywear, complimentary leed-certified manicures, lash extensions, hair styling, electro-therapy slimming, eyebrow threading, luxury makeup artist, and organic beauty treatments.  Stars happily enjoyed the festivities while sipping on signature cocktails and snacking on healthy eco-gourmet foods and vegan desserts. Charlie Sheen also went 4 for 4 in the Lipton Green Tea taste test and while doing so shared that his favorite Lipton Green Tea flavor was Cranberry Pomegranate! Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter of Dexter, both big Lipton Green Tea drinkers, combined their score for a total of 20 points as they took 3rd place in the Lipton Green VitaliTEA Challenge!

Secret Room Events presented the 2009 “Think Pink” Emmy Awards Style Lounge, one of the most exclusive and talked about events surrounding the Emmy Awards. Growing Concern

The rise in foreclosures has pushed many families out of pet friendly homes, forcing more pets into animal shelters throughout California. Now, a state mandate requiring animal shelters to hold pets for 6 days has been rescinded in a response to California’s budget crisis, meaning some animals are being euthanized in as little as three days from their arrival to a shelter.

Luxury lifestyle gift lounge and special events company GBK donated all of the elements used in creating the gift lounge stage to Lamp Community is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization that permanently ends homelessness, improves health, and builds self-sufficiency among men and women living with severe mental illness. Originally built in 1909, the Magic Castle’s artifact-filled themed and maze-like interior provided the perfect setting for the unique gift suite. The enchantment was evident from the beginning, where guests had to whisper a secret password to cause a bookcase to open, allowing entry into the gift lounge area.

Stouffer’s intentions are to “Feed LA for the Day” and provide funds to serve up approximately 70,000 meals. Feeding America and the LA Food Bank were on-hand at the event as beneficiaries of the bewitching gift lounge, and additional funds were raised through the auctioning of a celebrity-signed arcade game from Dream Arcades. The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank (www.LaFoodbank.org) is a nonprofit charitable organization that has served the disadvantaged since 1973. The beautiful and luxurious Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills provided a comforting beauty retreat where you felt and were treated like a celeb. Guests were also able to set their eyes on “Hearts On Fire” the world’s most perfectly cut diamonds, which were sparkled on many attending the red carpet. Also, Café Bustelo Espresso served guests an array of espresso creations.
 
This “Oscar Experience” suite felt very different from the typical Oscar gift suite many encounter. Instead of just giving away high priced gift bags, guests were able to actually experience the wonderful services of stylists, colorists, and acupuncturists alike.

Instead of merely giving away the extraordinary Belegenza Hair Care products, guests were able to talk to stylists directly about the background of the products, the formulas used, and which specific products would be best for their hair type. At the suite Patrick emphasized his desire to develop long-lasting relationships with his clients. Since so many in the entertainment industry are constantly traveling between Los Angeles and NYC, Patrick wanted to get the word out in Los Angeles, so that they could come get his services when staying in NYC. His method is focuses on bringing out the natural beauty of the hair and using the best quality products to do so.
 
In line with his method is the Co-Owner and Color Director, Rick Wellman, who is considered one of the most prestigious hair colorists in the fashion industry. One of his most unique and innovative techniques is using an alternative to foil coloring called Bio-lights. This coloring technique uses 100% biodegradable cotton pads, instead of foil, to create natural highlights. The method actually takes a little less time than using foil, but it also is not as abrasive on the hair. Many clients at the suite boasted that they would never allow anyone but Rick to even touch their hair when it comes to color.
