It’s been a year since Shade Hotel Redondo Beach, the preeminent luxury boutique hotel opened to the public. Recently, the hotel celebrated in style with a grand soiree to show its gratitude to guests and the citizens of Redondo Beach alike.
Approximately 650 guests, along with Redondo Beach mayor Bill Brand, were on hand for the red carpet affair to enjoy complementary food, entertainment, and champagne. The three levels of the hotel’s events building were open to guests, who partied under the stars across the backdrop of the gorgeous King Harbor Marina. The night included drink specials (the first 100 guests enjoyed a champagne toast), a live DJ and prizes.
“We are very grateful for the incredible welcome we have received from the community of Redondo Beach and whose continued support contributes to our success,” said Michael Zislis, Owner of Zislis Group. “It was a pleasure to celebrate with Mayor Brand and some of the new Council members. It seems like they are going to make some impactful changes that will make the city of Redondo Beach more business-friendly and an even better place to live.”
Shade Hotel Redondo Beach has garnered a host of accolades since its opening in November of 2016; among them being named one of the “Best Hotels in Redondo Beach” by Time Out Los Angeles and winning Easy Reader’s 2016 “Best of the Beach” award.
In addition, Sea Level Restaurant & Lounge was recognized by CBS Los Angeles as being one of the “Best Hotel Brunches in Los Angeles”. This is due in no small part to Executive Chef Aaron Robbins. His creative take on coastal California fare has helped make the waterfront restaurant one the premier dining destinations in Redondo Beach.
Perhaps more important than the awards it has won, the hotel is proud of the connection it has to the Redondo Beach community, strengthened through its support of charitable events. The L.A. Rams Game Watch Party was a joint fundraiser with the Los Angeles Rams Legends Community and was attended by gridiron greats Rosey Grier, Nolan Cromwell, and Dennis Harrah. The Shade Hotel Redondo Beach teamed with the Los Angeles Kings for “Taste of South Bay” and Torrance Memorial Medical Center for the Movember event “Pints for Prostate”. Each month the hotel hosts the “Get Lit! Yoga” series on their rooftop Aquadeck, a fundraiser for Cancer Warrior Foundation, the internationally known non-profit which has its roots in Redondo Beach.
