Villa Maria Kicks off ‘Open Another World’ with LA Wine Tasting

LA’s The Place was given a little taste of the Kia Ora by Villa Maria on at the WeWork Gas Tower in downtown Los Angeles Wednesday night, June 7th, 2017 to kick off their Open Another World campaign. Villa Maria hosted a wine tasting with their variety of New Zealand wines & New Zealand inspired tapas while attendees enjoyed the amazing view of the downtown Los Angeles Skyline.

The wines for the night was the Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Rose and Bubbly Sauvignon Blanc. To pair with the wine, staff was passing out goat cheese & spinach, as well as the lamb samosas to go with the cheese and crackers. 

At about 7pm the crowd was moved from the dance floor to await the arrival of a theatrical improv performance “Of Grapes & Grit”. This improv performance highlights the history and milestones achieved by Sir George Fistonich, such as his knighting in 2009, boasting of the screwcap innovation and the culture behind the man who revolutionized the wine industry in New Zealand. As it was an improv, the actors drew concepts from a hat and displayed a scene the concept described. It was a riot and of course wine was being handed out as the actors were taking acts from the attendees.

The Villa Maria Open Another World is a campaign that invites consumers to take in the ambiance of the wine and predicates the innovation of founder Sir George Fistonich. To help encapture this entrepreneurial spirit Villa Maria teamed up with WeWorks co-working community hubs to host all around the country.

The Villa Maria Open Another World campaign started June 7th In Los Angeles and end August 2nd in Miami. Other stops along the way include Dallas, Chicago, and Atlanta. Not only is the wine and improv enough to make this campaign great, it also features a sweepstakes trip for 2 to New Zealand for 7 Days and 6 Nights including Villa Maria winery tours in Auckland and Marlborough.
