Esters Wine Shop & Bar in Santa Monica just launched an online shop that can ship wine and gifts locally and nationally. The shop is offering pre-made and customizable Mother’s Day Gift Baskets ($55-150 + shipping) in a variety of sizes with an array of chocolates, artisanal food items like Chef Jeremy Fox’s addictive lavender almonds or Sqirl Jam, mini flower bouquets from Krystal Chang, and of course, wine. In addition to gifts and goodies, Esters will also be hosting two events during Mother’s Day weekend:

Saturday, May 13 from 1 – 3 p.m.: Spring Fragrance Flower Workshop with Krystal Chang:

This Mother’s Day, Esters will be working with the best blooms spring has to offer, with a focus on the most fragrant flowers, including local garden roses, sweet peas, tuberose, lilac, and hyacinth, as well as geranium leaves and herbs.

For $95/person, participants will receive a hands-on lesson in how to build a loose, flower-forward vase arrangement, with the flowers, vases, tools, and wine provided. Take the personal arrangement home to Mom for a special gift, or sign up as a family and take the class together! Tickets will be available for purchase online.

Sunday, May 14 from 3 – 5 p.m.: “Women Winemakers” Sunday Tasting:

Priced at $25 for a tasting of wines, plus crackers and cheese, the Esters team will be guiding guests through this special of edition of Sunday Tastings, paying special ode to women in the winemaking industry. Participants will also receive 10% off all retail wines in the line-up.
