2017 Mitsubishi Mirage
Cash for your car

The 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage is a perfect car for those who want to drive a fun, new car with the features of the latest in safety and technology with an affordable price tag. Make no mistake, the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage delivers on its promise of a low price and high value. With a starting price of less than $13,000, it costs less than the tiny Smart Fortwo or Fiat 500, though it’s bigger than both models.

Mitsubishi also claims it’s the most fuel-efficient non-hybrid gasoline-powered vehicle available in America, clocking in at 37 mpg city/43 mpg highway. All the numbers for the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage add up to a solid buy, if you can afford the trade-off in size, power, and build quality.

Maybe you have a teenager seeking a solid set of wheels that won’t break the bank. Maybe you yourself need a no-nonsense vehicle with room for (ostensibly) five; a fold-down rear seat for cargo and storage; strong mileage numbers; an amazing price tag; and a power train warranty covering 10 years/100,000 miles. That’s a long list, but the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage comes through for either party — and plenty of drivers in between.

You can expect features and finishes commensurate with a car of this price. For 2017, the Mitsubishi Mirage picks up new front and rear bumpers and lower-body treatments, a new grille, different headlights and fog lamps, new 14- and 15-inch alloy wheels, and a new rear spoiler. Inside, Mitsubishi has better-quality seat upholstery, but the dash retains its hard plastic finishes.

The 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage comes in three trims: ES, SE, and GT. The base ES model includes air conditioning, keyless entry, full power accessories, steel wheels, and a four-speaker, 140-watt sound system. Step up to the SE for a new infotainment display that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, plus alloy wheels, automatic climate control, a rearview camera system, cruise control, steering-wheel audio controls, and push-button start.

At the highest level, the GT adds heated front seats, 15-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon HID headlamps, and sportier trim. Fog-Lighting-Headlights-201You can also bust the budget and shell out for front and rear park assist, 300-watt Rockford Fosgate audio, and LED running lamps, all available as options.

The Mirage includes seven airbags — driver and passenger front and side bags, side-curtain bags over the front and rear windows, plus a knee airbag for the driver — along with stability control, traction control, and all the typical anti-lock braking systems.

The bottom line on the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage: That is, it’s the most economical non-hybrid car on the market today, and it comes with solid mileage, as well as Mitsubishi’s industry-leading 10-year/100,000-mile power train warranty. The Mitsubishi Mirage won’t win any beauty contests, but odds are the money you save on gas and the sticker price will look good on you.
