Fried Ipswich Clams, the legendary New England delicacy, are now on the lunch and dinner menus at Bluewater Grill restaurants in Newport Beach, Redondo Beach, Tustin, Temecula and Phoenix for a limited time.

The #IpswichClams – also known as “softshells” or “longnecks” – are harvested from the waters off New England and the Atlantic Coast and served #ClamShack-style with choice of a side plus Cole Slaw for $23.50. Locals also refer to them as #WholeBellyClams, #FriedClams or #EastCoastClams.

The clams are available for a limited time while supplies last at the five Bluewater Grill locations only.  They are not available at Bluewater Boathouse Seafood Grill in Coronado or Bluewater Avalon on Catalina Island.

The clams join other New England specialties on the Bluewater menu, including the #LobsterRoll, the iconic Maine delicacy consisting of a steaming hot dog bun filled with lobster meat, onions, celery and other ingredients. Several Bluewater owners and general managers hail from the Northeast, and regularly spotlight New England culinary traditions including homemade chowders, summer clambakes and Stuffed Maine Lobster during the holidays.

About the Bluewater Family of Seafood Restaurants

Since the first restaurant opened in Newport Beach, Calif., in 1996, Bluewater Grill has honored the rich history and traditions of its fishing forefathers, and worked with fisherman around the world to source the highest-quality seafood in peak season. Owner-operated from the beginning, the restaurant has made its mission to provide guests with the freshest sustainably caught or farm-harvested seafood, innovatively prepared, in an atmosphere of casual style.

In addition to the original location in Newport’s Cannery Village, there are Bluewater Grills at King Harbor in Redondo Beach, at The District at Tustin Legacy in central Orange County, and in the Camelback neighborhood of central Phoenix.

Beyond the original four restaurants, Bluewater Avalon and Bluewater Boathouse Seafood Grill serve locally caught seafood from two of Southern California’s most picturesque locations: over the water on Avalon Bay on Santa Catalina Island, and in the former Hotel del Coronado boathouse on Coronado Island in San Diego, respectively.

Most recently, Bluewater founders debuted the seventh Bluewater restaurant – and first in Southern California’s Inland Empire – on Feb. 9, 2015, in Temecula Wine County.
