Los Angeles welcomed a very cool new speakeasy earlier this year, which has gained popularity as a favorite lounge in a very short time. One of the reasons is Lock & Key’s extensive list of unique craft cocktails to assure everyone’s favorite drink is on the menu.
Lock & Key is a 1920’s-inspired speakeasy, developed by entrepreneur Cyrus Batchan, a fan of The Great Gatsby, which inspired the lavish & luxurious speakeasy design of the bar and atmosphere. “Bedazzling” and “Mysterious” have been words to describe Lock & Key.
Lock & Key serves innovative and unique craft cocktails, created by acclaimed mixologist Christophe Namer.
Very recently, Lock & Key has added new drinks, new food items, with the addition of a new patio bar.
The new menu features a list of everyone’s favorite cocktails. From the Strawberry Mule, to the Rum Old-Fashion, to the Aviation, they’ve made all the classics, with a Lock & Key twist
Previously a karaoke bar, located in Koreatown at Vermont and 3rd, the bar/lounge also serves food from their attached food window, Stall 239, with favorites such as the lollipop chicken wings, the angry bird, and a deep fried PB&J for dessert.
The plain unobtrusive entrance off Vermont reveals no indication of the lavish extravagant ornamental bar hidden deep behind it. The dark mysterious foyer contains a wall of ornamental door knockers– which is the actual entrance to the bar behind it.
Lock & Key has proven to be a true hidden gem in an unsuspecting Los Angeles neighborhood.
Patrons must dress up to attend & from what I saw, do so stylishly. It makes for a memorable evening out. To do again and again!
