Gear up your taste buds! ‘The Taste’ is once again hitting the scene and will be the place to be. LA Times presents ‘The Taste’ which is an annual culinary extravaganza that will take place over Labor Day Weekend at Paramount Studios.

Produced in association with Best Events, sponsors for The Taste include: Cadillac, Icelandic Glacial, Stella Artois, and Svedka. World renowned chefs such as: Michael Cimarusti, Sang Yoon, Nancy Silverton, and Mixologist Matthew Biancaniello will serve as co-hosts for the event this year.

LA Times ‘The Taste’ is like a who’s who of LA food and beverage. Held again at Paramount Pictures the annual celebration will pay homage to the fine artistry of creating and enjoying fine culinary cuisine. There are five distinctive events that complete the weekend festivities. Events include: Opening Night, Field to Fork, Flavors of L.A, Labor Day Block Party, and Cocktail Confidential.

Opening Night Presented by Tequila Don Julio. Each host and many individuals involved with ‘The Taste’ will gather for a night soiree.

‘Opening Night’ takes place on Friday, August 30th from 7:30-11:30 p.m. and will serve as a ‘preview’ as to what is to come throughout the weekend. Attendees will have the opportunity to try a collection of tastings, distinctive cocktails, and wine pairing while enjoying live entertainment, all in good company from top chefs and bartenders.

Field to Fork

Hosted by Russ Parsons, Times Food Editor, and Michael Cimarusti- Chef/Owner of Providence, Chef/Partner of Connie and Ted’s. Attendees will have the opportunity to eat seasonal dishes prepared with fresh, local ingredients, and learn the pleasures of cooking. ‘Field to Fork’ is an event perfect for a ‘foodie’ and will take place on Saturday, August 31st from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Flavors of L.A.

Hosted by Jonathan Gold, Times Restaurant Critic, and Sang Yoon, Chef/Owner of Father’s Office and Lukshon. ‘Flavors of L.A’ is a wonderful evening full of decadent dishes around the world. This ‘world-wide’ event takes place on Saturday, August 31st from 7:30 – 11:30 p.m.

Labor Day Block Party

The Labor Day Block Party is hosted by Noelle Carter – Times Test Kitchen Director, and Nancy Silverton- Chef/Co-Owner of Osteria Mozza and Pizzeria Mozza, and Founder of La Brea Bakery. This block party takes place Sunday September 1st from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. and pays homage to the ‘end of summer’ dishes as well as a ‘summer favorite’, barbecue.

Cocktail Confidential

Hosted by Betty Hallock, Times Deputy Food Editor, Jessica Gelt, Times Food & Night Life Writer, and Matthew Biancaniello, Los Angeles Cocktail Chef. Throughout this seminar attendees can expect to learn more about the depth of fine cocktails and pairing it with delicious cuisine which will make for the ultimate culinary experience. Come see some unique creations and impeccable pairings during Cocktail Confidential on Sunday, September 1st 7:30-11:30

Tickets

Starting July 14th, you will be able to purchase ‘early bird’ tickets for a low price of $50.00. If you miss the ‘early bird’ special you can purchase tickets for $65.00 in advance or $85.00 at the door. Opening night tickets are $125.00. It pays to be a member of the LA Times, as members save 20% off of ticket prices.
