The 2013 Aesthetic Meeting was held in New York City on April 11-16, 2013. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation hosted the event with the finest plastic surgeons and surgical professional from around the world. Beverly Hills’ own, Dr. Jay Calvert, Dr. Anita Patel and Dr. Andrew Ordon were featured speakers.
The event took place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center with informative scientific sessions, hands-on cadaver workshops, and live demonstrations. Dr. Jay Calvert, Dr. Anita Patel and Dr. Andrew Ordon were among the finest industry professionals to speak at the event.

The meeting was honored with the wise words of Dr. Jay Calvert as he spoke on rhinoplasty, diced cartilage and fascia grafts. Revision rhinoplasty is the process in which the nose is reconstructed through surgical procedures after an original unsuccessful surgery.

The event featured over 120 teaching courses, which included 15 new topics for surgical professional to attend. Exciting new segments at the meeting included facelift and rhinoplasty panels in which various surgical experiences were shared. Expert surgeons such as Dr. Calvert, Dr. Patel and Dr. Ordon critiqued their own work and answered questions. Another panel included the topic on how plastic surgery and the media can work together for the overall benefit of the patient. Industry leaders were also present to discuss the future of patient care and how to improve on the quality of post surgery procedures.
Advanced aesthetic education was provided for all the international surgical professionals. The world-renowned surgeons shared their best techniques with a 15-minute presentation. Office staff was also invited to “The Business Side of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery” segment in which tips and useful information was shared to improve on managerial skills in the office. Two live marketing panels were also available to answer any questions for guests throughout the entire event.
The 2013 Aesthetic Meeting also featured over 200 technical and scientific exhibits. An ASERF Silent Auction was held and featured various products and services for different surgical practices. All the proceeds from the auction went to ASERF and the construction of the Surgical Data Hub. There were also brief presentations on changes that could be implemented in each practice.
