Nothing says Christmas Like The Nutcracker – Long Beach Ballet – at The Long Beach Terrace Theatre

The magic of a classic tale is back this holiday season for it’s 30th year Anniversary.  Experience the enchanting magic and get the true holiday feeling and see The Nutcracker performance by The Long Beach Ballet at The Long Beach Terrace Theatre.  This astounding event portrays the story with extraordinary on-stage events bringing the imagination to life.  Complete a flying sleigh, pyrotechnics, a live horse, and over 200 ballet dancers.  With former Disney set designers involved, both Elliot Hessayon and Scott Schaffer, the intricate costumes designed by Australian artist Adrian Clark, and amazing special effects by magician Franz Harary.  It will be a delightfully amazing show the whole family can enjoy.  A full symphony orchestra adds to the intensity and excitement of this performance since The Long Beach Ballet is the only Nutcracker showing in Southern California with live music.

For all those in Southern California who enjoy gazing at the stars, this year Melissa Sandvig, a finalist from “So You Think You Can Dance” will bring her skills and expertise back to the performance.  The show also includes principle dancers from Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle- one of America’s greatest companies- Seth Orza and his wife Sarah Orza.  Knowing what the original playwright Tchaikovsky was aiming for, Artistic Director and Founder of The Long Beach Ballet – David Wilcox brings all the bells and whistles in demonstrating opulent enchantment.

The South Coast Children’s Chorale adds the fine art of storytelling with the innocent sounds of harmony from its’ youth under the direction of Emily Dyer.  The show has been dazzled with so many amazing special effects, even if you are not a fan of ballet, there is no way to avoid feeling the thrill and appreciating the stunning beauty of art, music, and a classical tale combined.  With only four days of show time, there is no time to waste, reserve your tickets today!

Tickets go on sale October 6th, 2012 and can be purchased through the Long Beach Ballet “Hotline” at 877. 852.3177, at all TicketMaster outlets, and the Long Beach Performing Arts Center Main Box Office.

Family-friendly ticket prices are $28.00 to $65.00 with a special VIP Package available at $95.00 for adults ($80.00 for seniors and children), which includes choice Center Orchestra seating, parking, souvenir, admission to the VIP lounge during intermission, and a backstage pass. Discounts are available for groups of 15 or more.
