Actress Elin Hugoson

Actress Elin Hugoson had always dreamed of being an actress in Hollywood, but coming from a small town in Sweden, felt nearly impossible for her. This was until the day Elin decided to move to the south of Sweden to begin a one-year theater program and has never looked back since.

After completing her studies at the Theater School, Elin remained focused on her goals and had the confidence to begin auditioning for several productions. After realizing that she had amazing success on every audition she tried out for, Elin’s acting opportunities began to sky rocket. Elin began doing commercials, short films and gained a breakthrough role in the featured film “Blood runs cold”. The movie premiered during the Cannes Film Festival in 2011, then at theaters in London and was also nominated for an award in Spain. During this time Elin had relocated to Los Angeles, to study at the world famous Stella Adler Academy of Acting- where she furthered her studies in theater, film and acting techniques to perfect her all ready god given talent.

At Stella Adler, Elin played Olga in Anthon Cekovs “Three Sisters” directed by Oscar winner, Milton Justice and was cast as Ann in “All my Sons” directed by director and play writer Tim McNeal., which was also written by Arthur Miller. After starring in these productions Elin’s life changed for the better when she met her agent who had recognized her incredible talent and was so impressed that he called her the next day wanting to sign her.

Since graduating from the Stella Adler Academy of Acting, Elin began shooting a couple of productions including a student commercial and a short film where she played a young mother struggling with the death of her husband and a child that refused to speak. Elin was also in a play at the Next Stage Theater in Hollywood called “The Dark Side of the moon”, where she played three prominent parts and the play ran for 8 weeks to sold out audiences. Elin continued being involved in other projects and short films and even tried her hand at voice over work, which was fun and a success for her too.

Next on the agenda for this busy Hollywood starlet is a short film set in the 19th Century where her role will require horseback riding, which is like second nature to Elin. Back in her native Sweden, Elin was a horseback rider and even competed in several competitions, where she was recognized for her skills as a horseback rider. Filming a role like this, is something Elin is most passionate about as she gets to use her skills and experiences from real life to draw upon for each role that she plays.

Recently, Elin was cast in a short film called “A Sunflower”after the director quickly recognized Elin’s looks and acting skills and cast her in a seaside Pharmaceutical commercial after wrapping up “A Sunflower”. To add to her list of roles, Elin just wrapped up a featured part in a music video called “Tight Sweater “, where she can be seen playing the part of an Assistant Director. Most recently, Elin was offered a part in a featured movie directed by Fergus Kavanagh from Ireland. The movie is called “Running to stand still”, where Elin will play a Swedish girl backpacking through Thailand.

This story takes place in 2004 during the tragedy of the tsunami which is very close to her heart, as Sweden lost as many as a thousand people that day. Even though Elin didn’t know anyone personally who died, she heard of so many sad stories through friends who where there as it happened. The filming for “Running to stand still” has already begun in Ireland and Elin will be joining the rest of the cast in September as they film in Thailand. This is the first film directed by Fergus Kavanagh, who had previously done some acting work back in his hometown of Dublin, Ireland. Fergus has been in the business for a long time and for Elin, this is such an amazing opportunity to work with him and an experience never to be forgotten.
