Have you ever just itched to do the chicken dance or craved the starchy style of German fare, but can’t quite make the trip across the pond to experience the true Oktoberfest? Well, Alpine Village offers an authentic German getaway right here in Los Angeles! Alpine Village is the oldest and the largest Oktoberfest celebration in Southern California, and is celebrating their 44th Annual Oktoberfest starting September 9th, and contiues through October 23rd.

Oktoberfest Paulaner Bier is flown in fresh from Munich.

This year’s celebration will be filled with charming entertainment and genuine German cuisine, including Paulaner Bier flown in fresh from Munich. The genuine German fare, prepared by Chef Marko Penich, including glazed pork chops, bier steamed bratwurst with caramelized onions and pretzel crusted chicken cordon bleu, accompanied by potato pierogi with gorgonzola cream sauce and spaetzle `n cheese, is sure to bring the German enthusiast out in any food lover.

Chef Penich’s meal is finished with Oma’s apple strudel and black forest cake that guests enjoy while watching the singing and dancing ensemble by The Satin Dollz Pinup Dancers, who perform old time classics everyone can recall and sing along to.

Alpine Village will be celebrating Oktoberfest every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from September 9th through October 23rd and continue on with the tradition of what USA Today has called “one of the best Oktoberfests in the world!”

The events on Friday and Saturday nights begin at 6:00pm until midnight, and are more geared for adults. Sunday’s events take place from 1:00pm until 6:00pm, and is the day to bring the family out to participate in Oktoberfest traditions and fun games for the kiddies.

Alpine Village, along with being the staple Oktoberfest entertainment hotspot in Southern California, also helps local charities with its annual Oktoberfest Fundraisers. In 2010, Alpine Village supplied over 10,000 event tickets for different organizations to sell, and allowed them to keep all of the proceeds, which helped them to thrive and continue with their line of work.

The Satin Dollz Pinup Dancers singing and dancing to adored old classics.

The 2011 Oktoberfest celebration is sure to be a success, featuring The Haderlumpen & Udelhoevner Dorfmusikanten Oom Pah Pah bands,  which will be flown in straight from Deustchland for your listening pleasure. The night’s festivities will also be hosted by Heino!, a tribute to the great celebrity from Baden Baden known as “The Voice of Germany”.

Alpine Village has impressed and recreated the amazing tradition that first began as a royal wedding celebration flawlessly since 1968, and this year’s Oktoberfest should continue the tradition of success once again!Tickets for the event will be going on sale soon, but if you have a large group that you would like to arrange for, there are pre-sell tickets available to parties of 12 or more. For more information about this year’s festivities and the 32,000 square foot tent of festivities, visit their website or connect with them on Facebook.
