Prince William and Kate Middleton Arrive in LA, Begin Tour of US

The royal couple landed in Los Angeles, at LAX around 4 p.m. It is Kate Middleton’s first US visit. A multitude of guards departed the plane first to secure the surroundings, and Southern California was graced by the elegance and grace of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.The couple was greeted L.A. city officials, including Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Governor of California Jerry Brown. They then headed over to the Beverly Hilton to take care of some business before their evening’s agenda.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended Variety magazine’s Venture Capital and New Media Summit in Beverly Hills on Friday afternoon. They are expected to stay at the British Consul General residence in Hancock Park.

On Saturday, the royal couple plans to head to Santa Barbara for a charity polo match. William will play in the tournament and Kate is set to present a Tiffany & Co. trophy to the winning team. The two will later return to Los Angeles for a BAFTA event.

Sunday, July 10, is the final date of their U.S. visit. That day, the two plan to meet with kids at the Inner-City Arts in the impoverished area of Skid Row and visit veterans and military families at a job fair in Culver City.
