An LA’s The Place Top Pick for Best New Hollywood Hot Spot for 2011!
The brand new, and first-ever Rolling Stone Los Angeles Restaurant and Lounge, based on the iconic music magazine, has opened in the heart of Hollywood. Never before has Rolling Stone Magazine ventured into the culinary world, and they have done so with a splash. The Los Angeles restaurant and lounge is the first-ever licensing of the Rolling Stone name for an American restaurant. The new star on the block, located at the Hollywood Highland Center, was the location for the American Music Awards VIP afterparty, which set the new RS/LA restaurant and lounge in motion with a bang.

Aaron West, CEO of An American Dream entertainment company and creator of RS/LA,  has nicely accomplished capturing the edgy-yet-classy iconic Rolling Stone vibe within its walls, with elements, images, music and energy from decades of legendary music and artists. Rolling Stone magazine covers from decades gone by are cleverly featured throughout the restaurant in creative ways. In RS/LA you’ll feel like you have gone back into the annals of music history, and are surrounded by the sites and sounds of songs and artists that are part of the fabric of our lives.

Located on the corner of Hollywood & Highland, Rolling Stone Los Angeles gleams with its two-story half-cylinder of paned glass rising from Highland Avenue. From the entrance onto the mezzanine level you enter into a 5,900 square foot dining room which accommodates up to 140 guests , with an additional 40 on the outside patio.

RS/LA’s dining room welcomes you with stylish comfort with a “vintage chic” design from Gavin Brodin of Brodin Design Build (Crown Bar, The Abbey).

With its own dedicated bar, the dining area offers two sections for semi-private dining for large parties.

The Cuisine

The American heritage of Rolling Stone Magazine and its global reach deserved nothing less than world-class cuisine, and RS/LA has put that inspired task in the hands of accomplished executive chef  Christopher Ennis. who brings over a decade of culinary experience from some of LA’s most prestigious restaurants – Vibrato Jazz Grill, where he was voted one of L.A.’s top chefs by Modern Luxury magazine, executive sous chef at The Fenix at the Argyle, One Sunset, Stout, Crown Bar, Astra West, and most recently brought his consulting skills to Fig & Olive, a New York-based French restaurant group that just opened their Melrose Ave. location.

Rolling Stone LA executive chef Christopher Ennis with Tamara Witmer, and LATP chief Jane Emery (rt).

Ennis has created a menu for RS/LA that is “a melting pot of cultures,” with an emphasis on mixed small plates, American preparations and flavors infused from Asia and Europe. He uses local organic produce and meats, and practices sustainability on every level in the process. His dishes are infused with flavor and Ennis layers complimentary ingredients that work together beautifully to make every bite an explosion of flavor!
