Austria Uncorked! Austrian Wines and the Cuisine of Jose Andres of The Bazaar at the SLS to benefit Meals on Wheels
On May 2nd, the Austrian Wine Marketing Board and the Austrian Trade Commission presents the first-ever “Austria Uncorked” at the sleek and sophisticated SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills on Monday, May 2nd from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., special VIP hour from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Experience popular Austrian wines, which will be paired with delectable cuisine from José Andrés of The Bazaar and dessert by Wolfgang Puck at the. Hundreds of Austrian wines will be featured, including several from the much-anticipated 2010 vintage along with older vintage wines from varietals such as Grüner Veltliner, Blaufränkisch and Riesling.
There will also be a special VIP hour just before the event, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will benefit St. Vincent Meals on Wheels program, a local education program which provides nutritious meals to residents across Los Angeles.
Austrian Wine Country
Austria’s special geographical position contributes to the uniqueness of Austrian wines. Even though Austria is at the same latitude as Burgundy, the temperature differences can be more dramatic. The hot summer days and cool nights create crisp, aromatic wines with full body and a refined character.
