Redbook is featuring their first-ever family issue and feature the 6 fabulous Kardashian ladies on their cover (along with baby Mason). Kim, Kourtney and Khloe joined their mom, Kris Jenner and half-sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner for an in-depth interview for the first-ever family edition of Redbook. They were the mag’s first choice for the inaugural issue.
In the Redbook article,  the Kardashian’s share great moments in their lives, their heartfelt thoughts and feelings, how they maintain such a busy lifestyle in the public eye, the media scrutiny and how they manage it all so wonderfully. You will feel like you know them personally after reading the article. And yes, they are as fun and and authentic in person as you see them on their shows.

Here’s a taste of the interview in the May family issue of Redbook:

Redbook asked Kris…”What are some of the biggest misconceptions about the Kardashians. Piers Morgan was recently pretty critical about you all being famous for being famous”. Kris answered, “It’s annoying to hear, “What do your girls do?” Well, first of all, all of my daughters have jobs. They are fashion stylists and designers; they own a chain of stores. They had the stores before they had the show. And my kids worked from the time they were 13 years old… ” They work 25 hours a day. And, that they don’t have any talent? They might not be singers or dancers but they certainly know how to produce a TV show. Whether you want to call it talent or not, they have multiple shows on the air. How many shows do you have?!”

Redbook: “What did your parents do right?” Says Kim, “My dad was the strict one, but he was still a lot of fun and always playing pranks. (Their father, Robert Kardashian was one of O.J.’s defense lawyers, and died of cancer in 2003). He believed that blook is thicker than water.  That’s how we always lived, with a total allegiance and loyalty toward one  another.”

But besides a close-knit loving family, they are a super-successful industry among themselves, with their four shows: Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York, and the most recent, Khloe & Lamar, products, endorsements, DASH clothing boutiques and more, earning them over $65 million dollars last year.

Choosing the Kardashians was a no-brainer for Redbook editor-in-chief Jill Herzig. PopEater.com spoke to Herzig and asked , “Why did you choose the Kardashians for the first family issue of Redbook?” Herzig replied, “The choice of the Kardashians was actually obvious because they are clearly an American obsession and also a really loving family. The glamor of the family is fascinating, but when you peel back the layers you see they are really devoted to each other in complex ways.”

PopEater.com: Redbook is a mag for women with young families. Why do the Kardashians appeal to them? Herzig:  “I think there is an honesty about them that contrasts in an interesting way with how stunningly gorgeous they all are, and I think that is what clicks with the American public. They’re real. They show their flaws.”

LA’s The Place was there at Redbook’s Hollywood event at the Sunset Towers to celebrate the Kardashians Redbook interview and cover. Our host Jeff Gaskin spoke to Kourtney, Kim and Khloe. Watch the interviews soon here on LA’s The  Place Daily TV.
