Motorola Mobility Celebrates the Academy Awards With a Limited Edition Gold Motorola XOOM™ for Top Nominees and Hosts

Motorola XOOM, CNET’s “Best of Show” at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CSI), takes center stage for Hollywood’s biggest night, the Academy Awards. An exclusive group of stars are slated to receive a limited edition gold Motorola XOOM in a custom leather envelope case.

This year’s hosts and nominees for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Director will be among the first to watch their favorite videos, play games, read books, surf the Internet all on Motorola XOOM’s HD widescreen display.

The Limited Edition Gold Motorola XOOM

The Motorola Xoom is a 10-inch tablet designed to run on Google’s new Android 3.0. It currently runs on the Verizon Wireless 3G networks but will be able to be upgraded to a 4G when the carrier releases it a few months from now.

The highly anticipated, stylishly thin tablet took home a total of eight awards at CSI.

The Motorola Xoom has features that aren’t found in Apple’s Ipad, such as front and rear facing cameras, and HDMI and USB ports. It has a built-in gyroscope, accelerometer, barometer, e-compass and adaptive lighting for new types of applications.
