Fashion-oriented individuals gain the opportunity to delve into the fashion industry through the eyes and experiences of expert panelists at AFINGO.com’s Behind the Seams Fashion Industry Forum on Nov. 20 in Los Angeles.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. in Raleigh Studios, four panels will discuss and share their insights and hard-won wisdom on a multitude of timely topics.  Marketing 2.0 will break down the barriers of creating, marketing and selling in the age of new media.  Attendees will learn the “science” of spotting the next big thing through the specialists of Trend Forecasting.  Sustainability: Business as Usual will discuss “going green” and making the change at a level that is more than skin-deep, while top designers and retailers of Ready to Launch Your Line will guide attendees on how to make the leap from sketch to sales.

Included in the list of esteemed panelists are Michael Segal, CEO of Fred Segal, Cameron Silver, Founder of Decades and Creative Director for Decades Denim, and Courtney Rotolo, Buyer for American Rag. Following each panel discussion, attendees will have the ability to interact and network with panelists as well as with one another.

A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit non-profit Goods for Good (www.goods4good.org), whose Tailor-in-Training program reroutes new and unused surplus fabric from the fashion industry to under-resourced vocational training programs in Malawi.  This program utilizes thousands of meters of fabric that would have otherwise been destroyed to train young adults in the valuable skill of tailoring while simultaneously creating school uniforms for orphans.
