John Varvatos Eyewear, to celebrate their 10-year anniversary, is launching three limited edition eyewear styles coming out this fall that we think you should know about.  Inspired from his cufflinks, suit lining fabrics, and ready-to-wear collections, the sunglasses have impeccable details and maintain the brand’s signature edge just in time for back-to-school fashion.

“When developing this collection, John and I dove into the design studio library and dug though the archives of jewelry, hardware and a variety of cast details.” says Nicolas Roseillier, new Creative Director for Base Curve, makers of John Varvatos Eyewear. “These hand-chosen elements are impeccably placed for maximum effect, and used exclusively on these limited edition sunglasses.

Limited Edition Sunglasses

Each piece has laser engraving, filled with silver epoxy, denoting the frame’s unique number out of 300, while each temple is detailed with the John Varvatos 10 Year Anniversary plaque with the four John Varvatos signature hallmarks. The top right lens displays the signature double V, for the two Vs in Varvatos.

Aviator Style: V904

A sleek squared aviator, style V904, is made with high quality brown spotted tortoise acetate. The only embellishments on this frame are cast metal skull details inspired by John Varvatos cufflinks and suit lining fabric, creating a rock’n’roll edge to a traditional look.

Wayfarer Style: V905

Unique black pearl acetate is used for the V905, a modified version of the classic Wayfarer shape with distinctive laser engraving on the top of the bridge. The frame is tailored with stylized bullets on the endpiece, and subtle skulls on the temples, inspired by the hardware and fabrics which John Varvatos has used in his ready-to-wear collections.

Edgy Style: V906

Style V906 is a classic rectangle shape featuring cast metal crossed guns on each temple with a discreet row of 3 bullets across the top of the bridge. This is the embodiment of John Varvatos’ distinctively edgy attitude which has separated it from the rest for the past 10 years.
