UCLA Live Unveils New Season Lineup Including Music, Dance, Spoken Word

With performances in the historic Royce Hall on UCLA’s campus, UCLA Live’s latest lineup of events for the 2010-2011 season includes many intriguing guests in categories like dance, special event, spoken word, music & film and musical genres including classical, world, jazz and roots. This year debuts the series’ newest section, music & film

Curated by David Sefton, individual tickets for events go on sale on Aug. 9, while discounted series subscriptions are available now.

The series of events begins on Sept. 30 with the live show John Cale: When Past & Future Collide-Paris 1919. Cale, co-founder of the Velvet Underground, will perform his 1973 album Paris 1919 from start to finish with a backing band providing support. The second part of the event will feature the avant-garde artist’s modern works.

According to its website, , “UCLA Live presents world-class performing arts with a global perspective, enhancing the experience by engaging, cultivating and developing artists and audiences.
