Actor Denis Leary, who stars as the rugged fireman in FX’s Rescue Me, loves to make light of the serious business of Hollywood. He even boasts of being a five-time Emmy Award loser and wrote a book sharing his wit and humor in 2008 titled,‘Why We Suck – A Feel Good Guide To Staying Fat, Loud, Lazy And Stupid’, which was on the New York Times Bestseller List for six months.  Now you can laugh out loud with him on his “Rescue Me Comedy Tour 2” beginning on June 10, 2010 at Club Nokia in downtown Los Angeles.

Comedy Tour Lineup

The 11 city comedy tour will be headlined by Denis Leary with Rescue Me’s Lenny Clarke and Adam Ferrara.  The show will also feature musical guests The Enablers with the Rehab Horns.  The stand up comedy tour will kick off on May 22nd in Atlantic City, make its national run and wrap in NYC on June 27th.

“We had such an amazing time on the Rescue Me comedy tour last summer- and most of the restraining orders and obscenity charges have either lapsed or didn’t hold up in court – so we are headed back out on the open road to make America laugh.  And when I say ‘most’ I mean we will be visiting several cities we didn’t visit last year.  And leaving each town immediately  after the show.  And we won’t be bringing the dancing monkeys.  Or the fire-eating giraffe.  He was a real pain in the ass.” — Denis Leary

The much anticipated season six of Rescue Me will premiere in late June 2010 on FX.

Leary Firefighters Foundation

The Leary Firefighters Foundation was founded in 2000 by actor Denis Leary in response to a fire that broke out in an abandoned warehouse in downtown Worcester, Massachusetts, his hometown, in December of 1999. Over 75 firefighters ran into what some have called “the perfect fire” and six of them never came out. One was Denis’ first cousin, Jerry Lucey and another Lt. Tommy Spencer, was a childhood friend and high school classmate. In an effort to find a positive way to deal with this overwhelming loss, Denis established The Leary Firefighters Foundation in the spring of 2000. The Leary Firefighters Foundation is dedicated to providing fire departments with funding and resources for up-to-date equipment and training.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Leary Firefighters Foundation.
