“South Pacific” Takes the Stage in Los Angeles

In a Lincoln Center Theater production, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic, Tony award-winning Broadway musical “South Pacific” takes the stage June 2nd through July 17th at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles

Set on an island during World War II, “South Pacific” tells the story of two romances – one between US Navy Nurse Nellie Forbush and French plantation owner Emile de Becque, and another between Navy Airman Joe Cable and a young native girl named Liat. “South Pacific” explores the heavy tolls of prejudice and circumstance, weighed against happiness and love.

Previews will be staged Thursday, May 27th through Tuesday, June 1 at the following times:

Thursday 5/27: 2pm and 8pm
Friday 5/28: 8pm
Saturday 5/29: 2pm and 8pm
Sunday 5/30: 1pm and 6:30pm
Tuesday 6/1: 8pm

“South Pacific” opens on June 2nd at 8pm. Regular performances will continue thereafter until July 17th.

Tuesday – Friday: 8pm
Saturday: 2pm and 8pm
Sundays: 1pm and 6:30pm
Mondays: No performances

Exceptions: The June 12th evening performance will be at 8:30pm. Additional performances on Thursday, July 1 and Thursday, July 15 at 2pm, and Monday, July 12 at 8pm. No 6:30 performance on Sunday, July 4th.
